Don't know how many minutes, I do know that I have exceeded my goal.
 
40 min walk/jog, Bw exercises
Found the best walking/jogging partnering today....my doggy!  ;)  Plus she is getting chubby, she is @20lbs. overweight, lots of extra weight for such a short/small thing- she will be in good shape when I get done with her!

I am a Leslie Sansone Walker!!!

Wow...I keep saying that because I couldn't afford to join weight watchers (well me and my daughter) at $49.00 dollars a month for two people. I really wanted the support and I am so excited that there are so many forums and groups on Livestrong. I am starting slow. I have been out of shape for a while now, my poor daughter is out of shape too and also a premium member (gift from mommy) on Livestrong. We are starting slow with the 1 mile walk in the morning with the hopes of moving up very soon to 2 miles. I appreciate an earlier post of someone suggesting using different music. I love Leslie, but after awhile all the DVD is doing is saying the same thing over and over and over....Looking forward to participating in the next walking event!!

Newbie Walker

I started hiking last august because I can't seem to work out in a gym. The problem I was having is that I only go hiking on Saturday's. The rest of the week I have my kids and while I take them for walks when it's nice out on Sunday (my kids call it adventuring), during the week it's not an option. In the last few months, I've been planning my hikes to be between 5-7 miles. I've seen some beautiful places and love hiking, but the 2 or 3 days after I was in pain. My legs hurt, my arms hurt.
It was my mother who suggested the walking dvd's. Something to do after the kids went to bed. The first few times I couldn't get by the 2nd mile. The music wasn't very loud. It was just this lady talking and talking and talking. I have to thank a woman who posted on the website that accompanies the DVD's who said she mute's it and turns on different music. THat was a BIG HELP! Now I go through the 5 big miles M-F and hike 5-7 on Saturday then 2 with the kids on Sunday. When I gained 20lbs I was a little dismayed, but now they are coming back off steadily!
