Rough weeks ahead...

posted by Former Member on 4:51 pm

On Tuesdays I always feel great.  Whether I lose weight or not I'm an optimist.  I think of Tuesdays as a fresh start and have all kinds of great goals.  It doesn't take long and I'm off track.  This week is spring break in Ontario and we've had my step sons aged 11 and 13 since last Thursday until today.  For all  those mothers who know that preteen and teen years are quite the challenge, just imagine if you were a step mother and the kids had even less desire to listen to you then their real mother.  Over all the boys are good.  It's just that awkward stage where they are no longer cuties and don't quite see the whole picture of life.  They are quite egocentric just like all kids their age.  To be honest they drove me nuts...lol!  Now 6 days back to work where it is much easier to stick with the weight loss program and then the boys come back for a 4 day weekend and then its Easter.  So its going to be 3 shakey weeks I'm sure.  I'm going to keep logging my TDP and posting my weigh-ins...but I think my lofty goals of staying below 1500 cals, working off 500 cals and doing 100 situps a day are a bit too much.  I'm going to do my best.  KUDOS to all the mothers and stepmothers that deal with these kids everyday!  I have a greater appreciation for my own mother and wonder how she managed 4 kids with only 5 years between us when just 2 have me flying in circles.

Facing everything head on is a good start (in my opinion!)  You know what lies ahead and you have goals.  Why not try to reach them?  You can do it!  Even if you meet one of your three daily goals, what an accomplishment!  Keep your chin up and do your best :)
