Ironman Triathlons

Are Sprint Triathlons Healthy?

As shorter versions of full triathlons, sprint triathlons often attract beginning triathletes and athletes who want to attempt a full length triathlon when they've improved their fitness level. Unfortunately, athletes have died attempting full triathlons and some physicians consider them dangerous, particularly when participants don't take safety precautions. Sprint triathlons have yet to receive the same type of attention. However, it's important to visit a doctor beforehand and properly train for any type of triathlon.
