Kickboxing is similar to the well-known sport of boxing in that it allows all of the same hand attacks, but is different because it allows kicks to agreed-upon areas of the opponent's body. There is a multitude of styles of kickboxing, from point matches to full-contact matches to the more-brutal Muay Thai style of fighting, and quite often the rules are bout-specific.
