It's unfortunate, but it happens. I do Comp. Networking and Security, so this can be a regular issue for me. I even "watch" myself on twitter so I see what I post and how it looks to others. Trust me, it comes in handy.
Keep up the good work!

Lance, unlike so many e-mailers and commenters I didn't send you an email. Was at my university's Relay for Life (we rasied over $100, 000 btw--would love to do a Livestrong Event) and just checked my phone a little to late to see the tweets. Anyway, keep up the work! We love you & you are my inspiration.
P.S. We should all start spamming andrewjhogg if he hasn't changed it yet!

Lance,
Out of respect to your privacy I did not send you an e-mail but I must admit I did think about it.
With all the communication that you do for your fans, at times its frustrating that we can't have some sort of two way communications. Thank you for sharing so many of your life's moments with us. You have been such an inspiration to so many including myself that even just a brief moment spent with you continues to inspire my own daily struggles to keep the faith and continue no matter what the obstacles that stand in my way.
I am so glad that the path has been cleared for you to Race in the Tour. I truly believe that you saved my life a few years back and I will be forever grateful, thank you Mr. Armstrong.
Respectfully,
Michael Ploch

I knew what Juan Pelota meant, I knew your were human, I didn't send an e-mail though I wanted to...remember that those who know care and support you in your efforts far out weigh the andrewjhoggs of the world who have to try and bring others down to their own level.

PS. Basso? Dont think so.... Hogg is l'idiot. The AFLD will probably start recruiting him now. Lance, you have proven yourself already. The rest is just budda! Looking forward to seeing you at the Giro.

Hi Lance, you are a true inspiration! It is great to see someone that has gone thru what you have then conquer it and continue to live and achieve your goals! You know what you want in life and you figured out a way to go for it -- that's GREAT! You have proven that a set back doesn't have to keep you back, but you can move forward. Enjoy the ride . . .
PS- To the IDIOTS out there that want to criticize people for working hard at recovery and continue in life, get a life! You need to move past your insecurities and figure what you personally are worth!

I would guess that right about now Mr Hogg is regretting his e-mail idiocy.
You mess with da bull, you get da horn.
Lance, regardless of whether you ever ride another minute, you will never understand how very much you have meant to so, so many people.

by airstreamnut on April 25, 2009 at 9:55 PM
Hey Lance.... or should I say JP.... I've been following you since my friend from Navy and fellow teammate, Kevin Ross, started cycling professionally (I think he trained with you) back in the 90s.. and wanted to say I think it's awesome you've come out of retirement and what you're doing...
I towed your buddy Matthew's 1952 Airstream before he got involved.... I just bought a roadbike to get back into it... I'll be using it to cross train for the Marine Corps Marathon this fall. Turning 40 and the Marathon is my present to myself...
I'm posting a picture on my blog of a vintage Airstream - an American Icon.... just ask Matthew.. I've got a question for you... Why is a FRENCHman pulling this AMERICAN icon? Shouldn't it be an American cycling 7 time (hopefully 8) Tour De France champion, and not a guy from France? I think so...
I think you pulling one would be totally cool! Hope you actually see this and read it... what's my luck?
Now, FRS - I'm liking it.. and will be using it throughout the summer / fall training as well. What's your FRS regiment?
Check out our blog: http://sweetsovereign.blogspot.com - if you ever want to crash in a restored 1958 Airstream on the farm out on the back 40 to get away from it all - you're more than welcome (I'd be honored).. and we'll go out on the local back roads for a ride. We're also close to 120 miles of state land trails too.. for some awesome mountain biking too... get MM to come streaming with you.. although you'd be staying in a much cooler trailer! And I have access to a small Airstream waiting to be towed by a true American champion!!!!!!!
Now to the serious stuff.. I'm wearing my LiveStrong bracelet and believe in what you're doing!! Thanks. Cancer is very prevalent in my family, on both sides of my mom's family. On my grandmother's side, all of my relatives have passed with Cancer. I've lost one of my aunts now too. My grandfather passed back in 98 with Kidney cancer. So keep on doing what you're doing and LIVE STRONG!
So, I hope you read this and seriously consider the chance to poke the french in the eye... by pulling an American Icon by an American Icon!!!
Ok, Lance - keep on training and all the best for the Tour! Kick Ass! Can't wait for the mountain - I bet your competition can though!
Take care,
Rob

Hi Lance,
Happy to write to you. Once uppon a time we were together in the press-room after you wins in the Tour. I was a journalist. You were the champion. Well, we have both 37. Now I am riding strong, around 30 000 k every year, and I understand better the pro's life. Maybe I would have asked less stupid questions in the past if I'd knew several things. You became to me more sympathic on Twitter. You focus on cancer's fight, I focus on doping's fight. I rode the Tour 2007 alone under medical control and AFLD (!) tests. In 2008, I rode alone Giro, Tour and Vuelta, always clean performance. It's possible, just working hard as you do everyday. To put it in a nutshell, I'm now one of your supporters. I was not in the past. Life can change you. Best wishes.

Hi Lance,
so sorry about the video mishap- I hope it doesn't deter you from tweeting b/c I've been really enjoying following your training, it's been a true inspiration. I really wish you the best! Thanks so much for sharing this experience with us. it is priceless. Too funny that you gave us that guy's email address. I was going to send a few words to that emailer but then decided i didn't want to be a part of that negative stuff. It's been making my days to see pics and read about your rides. I'm sure you know that you have a huge population of supporters- don't ever forget that. be safe, happy, balanced and keep doing what you are doing- j

by ruhler on May 4, 2009 at 8:10 PM
Hey just to add a little fuel to the fire, did anyone watch real sports with bryant gumbel on hbo last week? He basically took the french anti-doping agency side of the story and put lance in the same category as bonds as athletes who have been able to "dodge" the positive drug test. Actually said that if lance wasn't able to ride in the TdF that it would be good riddance to a guy that is obviously a cheater. Too bad he won't get his wish seeing that the french agency took lance's side too.
Maybe someone should leak mr gumbel's email.
