Natural, or essential, oils are made from steamed herbs, fruits and other organic materials. Because these oils are typically too strong to be taken orally or used topically, they are often mixed with a cold-pressed oil such as olive oil. Natural oils have a variety of aromatherapy applications--they can be used on the skin during massages, dabbed on the wrists instead of perfume or warmed with a tea light.
