Vitamins for Low Testosterone

Testosterone is a steroidal hormone present in all mammals, reptiles and vertebrates. It is predominantly the male sex hormone and is responsible for muscle growth, deepening of the voice and hair growth. Testosterone is also present in women, however, and is produced in small quantities by the adrenal glands. Low testosterone can cause health problems in both men and women including low sex drive, sleeping problems and loss of muscle mass. A variety of vitamin and mineral supplements can be taken to counteract low testosterone levels.
