Can You Be Allergic to Melons?

Allergies to fruit and vegetables, including melon, can develop in adolescents, adults and young children as well. If you're allergic to melons, you may also react to cucumber, zucchini and pumpkin, which are also members of the Cucurbitaceae family. This reaction may also be related to ragweed pollen allergy, with symptoms that are sometimes worse during the pollen season, in August and September. Allergies usually last for life, but your doctor can prescribe medicine to treat the symptoms.
