How to Dry Canned Pineapple

Dried pineapple is a healthy snack that you can use to sweeten trail mix or hot cereal. It can be a healthy addition to a lunch or even as a low-calorie dessert. While you can dry fruit in your oven or in the sun, a food dehydrator is the most efficient and reliable system. Canned pineapple takes longer to dry than fresh pineapple, because it is packed in juices. However, those juices also increase the sugar concentration of the fruit, leaving you with richly sweet, leathery chunks or rings that you can eat right away or store for months.
