My life change moment came when we got the Wii Fit for Christmas last year & it told me "That's obese!". But I learned that moving and watching what I eat actually makes a huge difference. I really wish I'd figured this out sooner, but it's all good. I'm healthier, happier, and more energetic--not a bad place to be for a woman in her 40s. Now I want to try to help others achieve their own goals, and I'm working on figuring out just how to do that.
SW: 220.5
GW: 155 (Is that even possible? I haven't been that since probably high school or before!)
Update on the GW: As of October 6, weighing in at 160.3, I'm just 5 lbs away from that number mentioned above--that number I didn't think I'd ever see! Wow. The final goal weight will change, but I'll know more about where I want to be as I get closer, possibly stopping around 145.
Update 2/19/2011 - I've lost 70 lbs putting me at 150 and have been maintaining lately as I go back to school. Now that I'm adjusting, it's time to start logging those calories again and strive for the 143 lbs that I think will be my final destination. I've lost 7 inches from my waist in the process. The size 10 jeans are starting to fall off. I never in my life thought I'd be wearing a size 8, but here I go, headed right toward it. I'm awesome!
What an amazing journey!
Accomplishments:
- Ran my first 5K on September 11, 2010.
- Can touch my toes, something I have never been able to do at any point in my life!
- Have become an avid cyclist.
- Wearing a size 10 jean!
- Lost 6.5 inches from the waist.
*** 10/28/10 - For some time now, I've been really disappointed in how LS has handled some things on the site, as well as the fact that I paid for app for my phone that doesn't work. They're aware it doesn't, but haven't done anything to fix it. I am currently looking for an alternative site, but plan to check in as I can to keep up with my friends here.

Time flies! I've lost 70 lbs since I started trying to lose weight beginning on Dec. 26, 2009. I still have about 15-20 lbs I want to lose, but I'm quite happy with where I am, too, so I'm not in as big of a hurry as I was last year. I have learned I can maintain, which is awesome to know. I'm excited that LS has finally fixed their Android app, so I'm hoping to get back to logging so I can finish up this weight loss journey and move on to living a happier, healthier life.
I started back to school this semester with the intention of becoming a Holistic Wellness Coach. I'm majoring in Integrated Studies, as well as psychology, and I plan to get my personal trainer's certication as well as work toward becoming a registered dietician. I'm hoping to achieve all of this within three years. Too, I want to write, and taking poetry and composition classes are helping me get better at it. Life is definitely better than it was 70 lbs ago.
