I've always been active and am an instructor level martial artist. Going into my 12th year of training. That burns a lot of calories. Sadly, I set a bad habit of taking in even more than I was burning off for several years running. I slowly gained 40 lbs over 8 years. Sneaked right up on me. My resolution for 2007 new year was to give up candy. Then that became all sweets. Then all sweets and all deep fat fried fried foods. Things have been going very very well, even as I put some sweets back in my diet. I'd lost 10 (ish) lbs on my own, then I started keeping a paper log of what I ate. I happened upon this website. MUCH easier than paper logging and I can keep track of so much more than just caloric intake. I'm attempting moderation with sweets as of 2008. Trying to find a balance without losing my mind.
