I discovered the South Beach Diet a few years ago and lost twenty pounds easily. I kept it off until August, when I got back to college and quit caring. I am back on South Beach and doing great. My mom and I challenged each other to 30 days of doing the right thing for ourselves. She is battling the nicotine habit and I'm giving up caffeine. Doing it together is so much easier than going it alone.

My boyfriend is an amazing man and luckily, he's very physically fit and eats very clean. He encourages me every day. We change up our workouts and play racquetball together. So far, my track record isn't too good: I've suffered a broken shoelace, multiple bruises, and a concussion.

I absolutely love to cook. Watching the Food Network gets easier when you learn how to substitute the bad ingredients for better ones. I have a sweet tooth. Bypassing cheesecake and chocolate are major accomplishments. My sugar-free peanut butter cup is a lifesaver!
