About Me
I got married about a year ago and since then i've gained about 20lbs. I'm looking to lose about 15 of those lbs since i know the last 5 only came off because of crazy wedding stress. My hubby recently moved home after 8 years in the Army, so its been an adjustment having to get used to his type of food being in the house all the time (mostly greasy, fatty, deep fried, scale-hater food).

Goal 1 (Mar 1st): 147
Goal 2 (Apr 1st): 140
Goal 3 (May 1st): 135
Goal 4 (May 24th - our 1 year anniversary): 132

“Last Thanksgiving my mom put a small table in our dining room to hold all the pies so she wouldn't have to get up again when it was time for dessert.  She did this before we even sat down to eat.  As we were bringing the rest of the food to the table we found gunner with his paws perched up on the dessert table helping himself to 1/2 an apple pie.   You think we would have learned from this, but no.   This year, my dad used this same small table to hold the turkey after the was done carving what we needed for dinner.  I look over when the meal is almost done and there's Scout helping himself to the rear end of the turkey!  Had I not caught him i'm pretty sure he would have managed to get the whole bird off the table and go to town.  Even though the little table was only a foot away from my dad, no one noticed him trying to get to the turkey.  Maybe we had too much wine...”

“I'm proud to report that my Scout has lost 6lbs!!!!  I should follow his lead and do the same!!!   He's now down to a slim 28lbs.  I'm pretty sure its from spending the entire summer running the fence line in our back yard chasing squirrels.  He goes out there at 8am and refuses to come in for anything but water until 6:30pm.  He puts in a full day of excersise!   I need to be more like my dog.  hahaha”

“Scout LOVES his bed.  Seriously LOVES it.   If he's ready to go to sleep he would rather go upstairs to our bedroom and hop in his bed than curl up on the couch with us.  He'll cuddle if our bedroom door is closed.....otherwise, he's all about his bed.  The other night I went into our room to find him like this.  I had vacuumed earlier and thrown the beds out of the way.  Apparently Scout didn't care that only 1/2 of his bed was actually on the ground.....he curled up where he could fit.  Crazy dog.

“  I haven't posted in awhile and its gotten really quiet in this group, so i thought i'd post a picture.  After giving Gunner and Scout a bath i normally try to bribe them with somethign to avoid the crazy freak out run they do around the house for 30 minutes.  This time, i bought each of them a rawhide bone.  Scout LOVES rawhide.  We usually have to take it away from him b/c he'll eat the whole thing in one sitting if we don't.   Gunner doesn't really care for them, he just likes to hide them from Scout and then maybe take a few nibbles after Scout has softened them up.  So i give them each a bone and Scout plops down to eat and Gunner tries to find a hiding spot, only i had all the doors closed so he picks a corner in the hallway to cleverly hide it.  Scout is watchign him out of the corner of his eye the whole time and as soon as Gunner walks away he goes to get the hidden bone and brings it back to where he was eating.  So Gunner comes back and finds Scout eating one bone while guarding the other.  What an oinker!”

“I went out of town this weekend and left the husband to look after our babies.  i came home yesterday and found out that while my husband was at work on Saturday they ate a box of Fiber One bars.   I took 2 on the trip with me, so that means they ate FOUR of those things between the two of them....chocolate chips and all.   They tore the box and all the wrapers to shreds.  My hubby said it looked like the fiber one box exploded when he got home.  Luckily it doesn't seem like they got too sickk from it, though Gunner did throw up on the couch (and me)  yesterday while i was laying down trying to take cat nap.    i swear....those dogs will eat ANYTHING.”

“a few months ago my babies went through a stage where i would come home every single day and find something destroyed.  they're better now (or maybe we're better about putting things out of reach), but here are some victims of their shoe rage:     here is scout and the shoes formally known as ballet slipper and flip flop #1:       this is gunner and the shoe formally known as flip flop #2    ”

“WOW!  I've missed so much in the last week.  I took the week off of work because my step-daughter was in town for a visit.     This was the first time my she has come to Houston.  We normally drive to see her in Arkansas.  She's almost 11.....going on 26.  Gunner was absolutely in LOVE with her.  He followed her everywhere, insisited on sitting with her at all times, and snuggled in her bed with her at night.  She loved him just as much as he loved her and gave him more attention than he knew what to do with.   she even gave him a bath after he got dirty at the dog park.  She loved Scout, too, but he's been totally preoccupied with some squirels in the back yard, so he could care less about whats been going on inside the house.  It melted my heart to see her and gunner get along so well.  they were like two peas in a pod.  i'm pretty sure she's gonna miss him more than either me or my husband!! haha.  Our dogs have been around kids before, but never for such a long time.  Gunner pretty much let my step-daughter run his life and he was so sweet and gentle with her. you can see in the pics below how attached gunner was.  She couldn't do ANYTHIGN without him.       Brat---Hannah and Hershey are gonna get used to each other....it just takes time.   Scout wanted nothing to do with gunner for the first month or two he was in our family, but now they're best buddies.   I think you're doing the right thing spending alone time with Hershey....he has to know he's still #1 in your house.   Puppies are SO SO SO much work, but just remember that she'll grow out of that stage eventually and she'll be a regular dog.  Try using something in the spray bottle besides bitter apple for the bitting.....maybe deluted hot sauce?               this last one is gunner waiting for her to finish brushing her teeth and get in bed.
