About Me
Brad Kearns is a former national champion and No. 3 world-ranked professional triathlete. He also is a popular author, speaker and coach in the fitness world for the last 20 years. Kearns' Breakthrough Triathlon Training program offers a healthy, balanced approach to triathlon peak performance. His books "How Lance Does It" and "How Tiger Does It" detail the champion attitude and behavior qualities of the Tour de France legend and golfing great respectively, helping you apply their methods in pursuit of your own peak performance goals.
Kearns also produces the Auburn, Calif., triathlon annually, directs the nonprofit Running School, which promotes cardiovascular fitness for children, and operates a healthy nutrition products web site called Bradventures.com.
Kearns graduated from UC Santa Barbara in 1985 with an honors degree in Business/Economics. He minored in running injuries and surfing. Kearns enjoys coaching youth sports and dominating fourth-graders in soccer and basketball. His offbeat competitive outlets include high jumping and speed golf. A 3.7 handicap, Kearns placed eight in the World Speed Golf championships, shooting 80 on a regulation 18-hole course in only 40 minutes.
In spring 2008, Kearns attained a lifetime best high jump of 5-foot-5, which would rank him 13th in the United States for athletes over 40. He lives in Auburn, Calif., with his wife Tracy and their children, Jack and Maria.
