About Me
Me
I am a 23 year old graduate student living in the Metro Detroit area. I spend my free time at the gym and scheming up healthy meals. I tend to get stressed out with school and exercising is the best way for me to relieve that stress. My goal is not about a number on the scale, but the way my body feels and how I feel in my clothes. Right now my goals are to maintain my size and keep toning my body. I am also rehabbing a foot injury from my last race.

My Weight Loss Journey
I began my serious attempt to lose weight in August of 2008 after a doctor's scale showed me how heavy I had gotten. After being a college athlete, not having a grueling practice schedule started to show since I am only 4'11". I was already running, but I started monitoring my nutrition more closely, and in October of 2008, I joined the daily plate. Since Aug of 08, I have lost a little over 26 lbs. I strive for fitness and nutritional eating and evaluate my results by how fast and far I am running, how I feel in my body, and how my clothes fit. I see the number on the scale as being secondary to all of that and am trying to get to a point where my weight doesn't define me.

I completed my first triathlon on June 28, 2009 and finished 6th in my age group. I also am following the new rules of lifting for women program and loving it.

I completed my first half marathon on 10/18/09 with a time of 2:04:11....next stop full marathon. Just have to get this foot pain under control first.
