Greetings! As a little girl growing up in Northern MN, I often vacationed in AR to visit family. It was my dream to one day move south where it was warm and sunny and no more freezing winters. When I was 19 I did just that. I lived in AR for little over a year, but the winters were still cold. Dallas was next. It was warmer, but we still experienced ice storms. Then my babies came along and my husband and I wanted a smaller community for them to go to school. Back to AR we went with the cold winters. One of our family vacations was to San Antonio, Corpus Christi and South Padre Island. We loved the area so much that several years later, we made a family decision to move back to TX. My son was a Sophmore in High School and my daughter had already graduated. She wanted to come with us for the big adventure. We have never regretted the move to South TX. The weather is very warm, sometimes exhaustingly hot..........we still get cold winters, they just don't last as long. :)
My daughter graduated from TCA several years ago. She loves to cook, but enjoys making pastries the most. She is very active to work off those extra calories. My son is a senior at TSU. He will have a degree in Exercise Sports Science (Pre-Physical Therapy). He plans to attend graduate school to pursue a degree in Physical Therapy. He's a dedicated gym rat (with the muscles to prove it)!
Personally, I have always struggled with my weight.... some years more than others. My daughter and I go to the gym together, she keeps me motivated. I try to watch what I eat but that darn Mexican food gets the best of me at times! I've also recently returned to school for a change in careers.
