UPDATE JUNE 17, 2010: Did I mention I am now 62 years young? Feeling better than ever and off all my old blood pressure medications! Still riding as often as possible, at least three times a week. I weighed in at 139.8 this morning and for the past six months have kept between 139 and 142. Mostly 140 and 141. So I consider this MAINTAINING! Join us on the Dare to Maintain your Weight Loss!! :)
After recovering from back surgery in 2008, I had gained even more weight to reach my high of 208 lbs. When my doctor told me I had elevated sugar and liver levels, he told me to exercise and diet. Talk about motivation!!! I'd already been missing healthy foods and was ready to get started!
I joined Dec. 18, 2008. And as of Feb. 5th I have now lost 20 lbs. I feel terrific.
UPDATE: As of April 1, 2009 I am now down 35 lbs.
UPDATE: As of April 28, 2009 I am now down 42 lbs. :)
UPDATE: As of June 1, 2009 I am now down 50.6 lbs. :)
UPDATE: As of July 14, 2009 I am now down 59 lbs! :)
UPDATE: Met my goal of minus 60 lbs on July 25, 2009. Then I figured why not make my goal an even 145.
GOAL MET!! :) I hit 145 lbs, down 63 lbs on August 4th. Whoooooo hoooooo! As of today, Sept. 29, I'm staying between 141 and 143 and loving every minute of it. I'm still learning what it takes to 'maintain', because I've NO intention of ever seeing those discarded pounds again! NEVER, EVER!
I started out using Weight Watchers on Dec. 16, 2008, but wanted more knowledge of calories, sodium, fats, etc. So, I found Livestrong by searching for nutritional information, and I love this place!!! I made a form that I use to enter manually when we travel and/or don't have access to the internet. I often use it during the day and then update on The Daily Plate come evening. If you want a copy, just message me. It was created in Works.
I also started on Dec. 18th using my exercise bike every other day for 30 minutes. Then my husband decided to join me so we started using our out door bikes, and it's much nicer. We now go about 20 miles every other day. We try to go on a longer ride once a week or every other week, and the furthest we've gone so far is 37 miles. That first week, we had trouble going around the block. I am feeling better than I have in a long longgggggggggg time!! I'm feeling FANTASTIC!! :)
UPDATE SEPT. 20, 2009 I rode 45 miles yesterday!! Whoooooo hooooooooooo, feeling ALIVE :)
Anyway, good luck to everyone on here. You have all been such an inspiration and so much motivation for me! And thank you Livestrong for making such a difference in my life!
