About Me
I have been an athlete my entire life pretty extreme until 10 yrs ago when great losses and overwhelming stress put my health in trouble and I could not continue with my physical activity. As a result over the last 10 yrs I have gained 60 lbs despite my healthy eating. Chocolate was my enemy, the only thing I indulged in really, but no more I am happy to say. I have been eating overall more than I used to eat and the stress has been extreme so my weight has gotten out of control. I had resumed a moderate exercise program last spring that ended with illness in october. I have been feeling better and again resumed my exercise routine which I have not really kept up with. I feel so much better when I am strong and fit. After I move hopefully by the end of the year, I plan to add bike riding and hiking to my activity level. I tried to ride my bike here but it is too hilly and cannot manage the extreme inclines at this time. I am determined to stick with diet control and get back in shape so that I can again have an active life when I finally get to move to the place where I can settle back into life. I have been on hold too long.

update: i have been loosing steadily and have not been exercising. I have discovered that when I participate in an exercise program my body kicks into survival mode and holds on to all it has, so I am muscle toning a bit and using daily chores to be conscious of toning and following the calorie plan and I am doing well. I am no longer obese and have gone down 2 sizes. Have a bit more to loose but feeling and looking great. When I have reached my goal I will begin to reintroduce physical exercise and see what happens. This is working for me because of who I am, have been, and want to be.

another update: have been on a miserable plateau and very busy with closing out my work load here so my exercise focus has not been what I want however this last month I am winding down and will have more time and must shift priorities to get out of this horrible stuck place. I have been fighting frustration and not doing as well as I should, the sugar is trying to creep back in but birthday is over, no holiday dinner for me, and one last trip to Santa Fe hopefully will help me through the wall. Then it is home to pack and move, fingers crossed!

“Anyone else having problems with the site here? My meals keep changing calories on me and I am having to go back and list all ingredients again and that just seems to take forever, especially on the new myplate. I dont' always have the time to sit here forever and reenter all this stuff, I have even deleted meals and re done them completely and now today my breakfast cereal is listing as over 1000 cals and it is supposed to be like 184. Very frustrating, anyone else having this problem, find a solution? ugh”
