Time to update this thingy. I am now pushing 27. After nearly 2 years of running I've developed quite the thing for it, and cycling, swimming, and triathlons. The only thing I'm lacking is time! I am now a full time nursing student, working part time at a hospital as a nursing assistant, a full time mom and wife. I refuse to let school or work interfere with my overall feeling of well being, aka training. I need it. So I've set some high standards for this year. I 'd like to run at least one marathon (already set on the St. Louis Marathon April 10th), 2-3 half marathons, and improve my 10K time (striving for 50 minutes I think). I also want to win the sprint triathlon that we've been doing for 2 years now and participate in my first open water tri this year as well. Since school's started I've struggled to balance the things I want to do on a daily basis, stress, and eating properly. I think the last two tie into one another. I'm mostly vegetarian (will eat the occasional chicken and fish) but have struggled to overcome the temptations at work lately. Cakes, chocolates, candy, chips, you name it, we seem to always have it. I've put on around 5lbs, maybe more, hopefully not, since this summer, which I blame mostly on winterization, but truthfully, lack of discipline. My present, immediate goal is to be accountable for my food choices, eat healthier and be disciplined especially at work. It's hard, but I shouldn't jeopardize my running potential b/c I'm lazy. So, starting now I'm trying even harder than before.
