“So here comes the last week of January.  I am sitting at 192lbs.  I would like to be try and be at 190lbs by the end of this week.  That would be an 11 pound loss for the month of January.  Did pretty good this weekend, except for Sunday night.  I did have a cold however, which helps because I'm not as hungry.  My goal for February would be another 10 pound loss which would be awesome!  I went to Kent's on Saturday and found some clearance steak, mushrooms, and veggies to sautee.  This kept me pretty much fed through the weekend.  Anyways,  good luck this last week in January and then on to February.”

“So I hovering on the scale between 194 and 196.  This week I am going to try and be pretty disciplined on the food and 30 min daily exercise.  I feel like I need to get back down to 190 before I can say I've accomplished anything.  This is the point I was at last year.  Until I hit that point I feel like I'm just playing catchup.  From there, I am excited to see if I can break into the 180's.  It's going to take some work but... here goes.”

  • jasoncook posted Weekend.. in the group Weekend..
“Well,  we were super busy on Friday so I basically only ate a big dinner, but it was a good one.  Barbeque.  Pretty much stayed within my goals.  Saturday, on the other hand, was my "off" day I guess.  Ate alot of pizza and Mt. Dew.  Sunday was fast Sunday, Kaylee made homemade chicken noodle soup and rolls.  I went a little over on carbs becuase of this, but stayed way under on cals due to the fact that the soup doesn't have many cals and because of the fast, I didn't eat breakfast etc.  I ended up down on weight for the week.  Not sure how much because I didn't weigh in this morning, but I'm guessing about 3-4 pounds down which is above my goal of 2lbs a week.”

  • jasoncook posted Could have been worse... in the group Could have been worse...
“Not too bad considering a had a full blown Maddox dinner for Kaylee's birthday.  I went over on carbs by about 50 grams but it could have been worse.  I do have a dull headache that i am attributing to the lack of caffeine and I am sore all over thanks to 20 minutes of pain from a Jillian Michaels workout video Monday night!”

  • jasoncook posted Here we go...! in the group Here we go...!
“So,  back on the horse after basically 3 months or so out of the saddle.  What did that 3 months cost me?  About 10lbs.  I weighed myself this morning and I am back up to 201 lbs.  So,  my goal is going to get to 175 lbs, which basically puts me around my "healthy" weight according to most BMI charts .  If I can average a 2lb per week weight loss then I should be able to do this in about 3-4 months.  However, in order to average 2lbs a week, I've got to be disciplined.  I'M GOING TO DO THIS, who's gonna join me?  Post your goals and we can keep each other motivated?  So the goal is 26 lbs.  Here's how I'm going to do it on a daily basis:   1800 cals per day, about 100 carb grams, 64 oz. of water (no pop during the week), multi-vitamin everyday, sleep 11pm to 7am during the week, and exercise 30min per day (probably workout DVD's) I haven't thought of a tangible reward yet (other than the wieght loss), but I think it's important to have one.  (Something extra to motivate)  I think it will probably be a trip somewhere warm and tropical.  Anyways,  good luck!  I picked a great day to start.  It's Kaylee's birthday, and we're going out to eat tonight!”

  • jasoncook posted 6 months down, 6 months to go... in the group 6 months down, 6 months to go...
“Ok, so I am hovering around 190lbs, and I am not budging.  Granted I have not been the most consistent. (summer and all)  My ultimate goal is 170lbs.  This puts my BMI at a "healthy" weight.  (And if I were to be honest with myself, I still look like I need to lose 20 pounds or so).  So how am I going to lose another 20lbs by the end of the year?  Here's my ideas,  please let me know if you have any other ideas. Weight lose calculator says that given my current height and weight, I should be eating about 2,300 cals a day.  If I keep dialing it back to 1800 cals, then it says I should lose about 5 pounds a month.  This is do-able for me but I need to not cheat so bad on weekends and holidays.  So I am going to try and stick to the following, including weekends then best I can.  1800 cals, 150 carb grams, 64 oz. water. Also, I am going to limit my diet pop intake.  I am currently drinking a 20 ouncer a day. (way too much)  I am also going to incorporate atleast 30 min of exercise a day.  This is something that I have not done yet consistently.  So here is my checklist of consistency. 1800 cals, 150 carb grams, 64 oz. water, much less pop, multi-vitamin/fish oil supp, 30 min exercise, in bed by 11pm daily.  Trying to eat "cleaner" overall.  Natural stuff, and fiber.  And... consistency, consistency, consistency.  Snack when I need it, but with in these perameters so that I don't burn out.  I've proven to myself that I can lose 40lbs. Gained a great education along the way.  I've learn what it takes to be keep my weight consistent, now I need to learn how to lose the last 20lbs and then stay consistent at my healthy weight.  Sorry if this is long, but since only a few people may even see this, it is more like a journal for me.”

  • jasoncook posted Bring on July! in the group Bring on July!
“So I am sitting at 188lbs. 2lbs below my wedding weight!  That is down from 226, (38lb loss) when I started this on Jan. 4th, and down from 235 (47lb loss), which is my heaviest I've ever been.  I've had my ups and downs but have pretty much trudged along.  I am to the point now where I am pretty comfortable sticking to 1800 cal, 150 carb grams, and 64 oz. of water during the week.  On the weekends, I just don't worry about it, however, I have found that habit won't let me totally pig out though!  I do drink about 1 diet pop 4 to 5 times a week, which I know isn't good but sure helps me not pig out on something else.  I've now seen about a 4 month trend of losing 4lbs a month.  I hope this continues.  I feel like by reversing my fattness trend, I've proably saved myself from some bad diseases and added 10 to 20 years to my life. I feel way better for sure.  Knee doesn't hardly hurt anymore and I can actually ski a full day, full on again!  My ultimate goal is 170 to 175.  My goal by the end of July is 184lbs.”
