I've been married for three years and I'm a stepmom. I'm a Technical Writer and (sometimes) a creative writer. I am active at my church; love hanging out with my husband, family, and friends; and love reading.
Four years ago I lost 70 lbs. I'd been overweight for many years but didn't deal with it until 2006/2007. I lost my weight with Herbal Magic (I think the food tracking helped more than the herbals, but that could just be me). Now, I'm healthy and fit and at my ideal weight. I try to eat well but don't always succeed. I always get back on the bandwagon, though. Thankfully I have a husband who is also health conscious, and we go to the gym every morning and eat as healthy as we can.
I started running in June 2007. I started with 5Ks and did some 8Ks as well, along with a 10K in May 2008. In 2010 and 2011 I was sidelined with a bulging disc in my back. This has made me more wary of running, so I am trying to supplement that with less "impactful" exercise. I am taking some cardio/strength classes at my gym and I'm really liking them. I may try spinning, too, but I don't enjoy the idea of it. My goal in 2012 is to be more creative about staying fit (and to lose the 3-4 lbs that have crept back on since my running decreased)!
