About Me
I am a military wife with 2 wonderful kids. We've been married for almost 7 years and he loved me at 270lbs! UGH to the lbs, not the love :)

After the birth of our first baby... I went to Weight Watchers. Although I was very successful and lost over 70lbs, I found it very expensive... especially being a single income family on a private one's pay. So I quit going and soon after got pregnant with our second baby.

The hardest part during this pregnancy was my husband being in Afghanistan. I ate my way to over 300lbs!! After the birth of our second bundle that I used as an excuse to eat... I started going back to Weight Watchers. Again, I was successful for the few weeks I went, but it was just too expensive. I got down to about 317lbs... and I wish I could say I at least stayed there.

I started to feel as though I was just destined to be obese and started coming to terms with that. I started joined BBW groups and all that... but I wasn't happy... especially at 355lbs!! My highest recorded weight!

I ended up meeting another girl online that told me about weight loss surgery and how it's covered!! I always wanted surgery, but always thought I would have to come up with the finances myself.

I immediately started looking into it and was quickly approved. I had RNY gastric bypass in December of 2008. Even though surgery was very drastic and it has worked wonders for me, it is not the cure-all solution for obesity. Nor has it taught me how to eat properly. In fact, it did quite the opposite. I physically couldn't eat very much at all... but I wasn't mentally satisfied with the few bites I could eat. Chicken and steak hurt really bad if I had just one bite too much. But CHIPS didn't hurt!!! So, I found myself eating chips because I could get my mental fill of food.

I probably stopped losing weight with the surgery once I hit about 240lbs. This is when I seriously started tracking with livestrong and lost about 35lbs with diet alone.
