Hi,

I'm a 36 year old male who used to work for the company who owns and maintains this site. Although I no longer work for them I highly recommend this site.

I'm currently recovering from a bad case of pneumonia which resulted in a pleural effusion. The pleural effusion required me to have surgery to clean out the infection. If you need to know what a pleural effusion is you can click on the link explaining what it is in the disease section of my profile. Basically in short it's a buildup of fluid in the membranes that line the lung. The event was very traumatic for me. About a third of my left lung was filled with fluid which prevented me from taking full breaths and getting the air I needed. There's nothing worse than the feeling of drowning. Still, the worse part is over but I don't want to experience this again. This profile is my account of returning back to health.
