Founded in 1997 by cancer survivor and champion cyclist Lance Armstrong, the LAF is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in Austin, Texas.
Cancer is a global problem that will claim 12 million lives by 2030. Inspired by our founder and chairman, we stand up for the 25 million people living with cancer worldwide by focusing on cancer prevention, access to screening and care, research and quality of life for cancer survivors.

Mission Statement

In the fight against cancer, the Lance Armstrong Foundation believes that unity is strength, knowledge is power and attitude is everything. Our mission is to inspire and empower people affected by cancer.
