About Me
Stats:
31 years old
5'10"
153 lbs, 22.1% body fat
BMI - 22.8

Current gym regiment:
I lift weights 2 days a week, doing full upper and lower body each time. I'm currently doing "medium" weights - 3 sets of 20-30 reps at a moderate weight (around 9 lbs for upper, 50-130 lbs lower).
I do cardio 2-3 days a week, usually consisting of either 20-30 minutes on the elliptical or a 40 minute step/kickboxing class. Also, since it's summer, on weekends or evenings I may do 10 miles on the rollerblades, a 3-5 mile walk, or a 30-60 minute bike ride around down. Also gardening - lots of gardening!

I've been all through the spectrum, weight-wise, and am finally starting to stabilize.
I was around 155 all through high school, and pretty active - I did at least one sport every year, from dancing to swimming, to track and field. After I graduated, I spent a summer between the beach and the job, so I was eating a bowl of cereal, a cup of chowder, and a couple of slices of bread every day. Not terribly healthy, but I had trimmed down to about 145 by the time I left for college.

end of Freshman year: 170
end of Sophomore year: 190-195
end of Junior year: 220

I started jogging and doing aerobics my Senior year, but didn't manage to take off any weight. It just shows how much diet has to do with it! I was living off crap, and I looked like I was living off crap.

After I graduated, I went through a couple of cycles of losing weight then putting it back on. Nothing really clicked until I met my now-husband. We were both more than 50 pounds overweight, and together decided to do something about it. We started reading labels, adding up what we ate (this was before I found TDP), and we joined a gym. I dropped about 15 pounds the first 4 months, then I got the flu and dropped another 10, and that's where I stayed for about 4 years (170-175 lbs).

I became a vegetarian a year and a half ago, and since then have lost another 20 pounds. I'm not saying giving up meat made me lose weight, it was more the shift in focus to vegetables and healthier grains. Plus, it's hard to be "naughty" when there are so few things to eat on most menus. Protein can be an issue, but as much as I freak out about not getting 70+ grams a day, I'm really not consuming much less than I was during my meat-eating days.

So here I am, back at my target weight, and feeling pretty good about it! I still tracking everything I eat as it helps me maintain focus.
