Once upon a time there was a 280lb woman. She found out her weight and set about drastically changing her life. This is her story.

Last year I dropped a little over 40 lbs (gained some back over the winter) 40 lbs a year seems sane to me so my goal for this year is to get down to 200.

Last year I changed my eating habits - I bought into a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) and started eating mostly fresh vegitables. I kicked all the nasty processed food out of my life. I started cooking dinner.

This year I am starting to exercise, I bought a house a mile away from the office so I'm going to try to walk to work every day. I was diagnosed with Adult ADD Inattentive Type so I'm learning how to deal with that. Treatment is cause for concern, my medicine is an appetite suppressant. I'm being good about eating though, I have meal times set on my phone and I'm keeping track of my calories, making sure I eat enough.

June 17, 2009 update: So I hurt my foot three weeks ago and I'm finding it hard to exercize regularly because of it. What I really want to do is walk to work and back but that isn't possible right now and its making me grumpy. I'm surprised my office mates haven't taken me out back and shot me I'm so annoying. I do have a recumbent bike in my living room so I'm going to try and get into the habit of using that for 1/2 hour every day.

June 30, 2009 update: My foot is still hurt :( But it looks like I lost 7 lbs in the month of June anyway! Considering it hasn't been the best month of my life I'm really pleased with that. Heck, that's almost 2 lbs a week gone forever, and I was plateauing through most of it. Rock on and live strong!

September 4, 2009 update: My foot is mostly better! Still a little twingy once in a while (like last night) but mostly not. I can wear pretty shoes again!! Also, as of today I've lost 70 lbs (actually 70.2 but who's counting?) which means I've lost 25% of the weight I started with!!!!!
Goals:
Goal 1 - 236 - 1 lb lower than I lost last year - Goal 1 reached May 22, 2009!
Goal 2 - 230 - 50 lbs lost! - Goal 2 reached June 17, 2009! Happy Father's Day Daddy!!
Goal 3 - 220 - 60 lbs lost! - Goal 3 reached July 24, 2009!
Goal 4 - 216 - the first time my weight absolutely freaked me out (Junior year of college) - Goal 4 reached (briefly, but still reached) August 9, 2009! Which is my dad's birthday, btw.
Goal 5 - 210 - 70 lbs lost! Goal 5 reached September 4, 2009!! That is also 25% of my starting weight gone!
Goal 6 - 200 - 80 lbs lost! Goal 6 reached October 24, 2009!!
Goal 7 - 199 - As Charlie of Back to the Fridge puts it - Onederland! Goal 7 reached somewhere around October 30, 2009!!
Goal 8 - 190 - 90 lbs lost! Goal 8 reached December 12, 2009!!
Goal 9 - 184 - Senior Year of High School
Goal 10 - 180 - 100 lbs lost!!!!!!!
Goal 11 - 170 - 110 lbs lost!
Goal 12 - 160 - 120 lbs lost!
Goal 13 - 150 - 130 lbs lost!

Maybe a goal 14 depending on my body -- I've never been thin so I don't know my thin weight.
