“I am a goal person which motivates me much better than just mulling along. I have been struggling with my weight fluctuation (ALL due to poor eating) since my trip to Hawaii in April. I went off the wagon and have struggled since. My girlfriend just got a job with a European company and has to go there to train for 4-6 weeks. All kinds of things come up for me. 1, I eat when I'm lonely and with her gone for that time, I will be lonely!! Â 2. I will have to be on the honor system - my mom does live with us but we can feed in to eachother's "food behaviors". BUT.... and this is the good thing - part of her contract includes sending me to visit her n London. Â How awesome is that? A free trip to London! So, I am leaving on 7/5 for 12 days. I have between 10-15 lbs to lose. It sounds aggressive but this weight is brand new weight that I have recently put on, so I am hoping that it will be mostly water weight. If I set my mind to my healthy food/fitness plan this shouldn't be to hard. It is just jumping the emotional hurdle of not depending on food to fix my feelings. I know I can do this!!! eeekk!!!!”

“Â I have been totally binging for weeks now (really ever since I hit my goal weight). I am probably 12 lbs or so over goal weight (terrified and in a sort of denial, so I have been avoiding the scale - which is NOT a good habit/sign for me). I know that I need to quit focusing on the scale but my clothes don't fit me. I look very sloppy in my tight fitting clothes. Now, I am seriously concerned because my girlfriend got a FANTASTIC job but with issues for me. Yes, I am thrilled for her but terrified for me. Whenever she is out of town I binge/sneak eat. I feel so very lonely without her. She is going to be entering a new life and I am afraid that I am being left behind. Since she quit an official job and started her own business we have had a lot of free time during the day where we can go out. This job is probably going to take up 50-60 hours a week, especially initially. She is going to be a VP of a brand new department. She is going to London for 2-3 months to train. Then she will go to shows just about every month for 4-5 days. Yesterday she said that she had thought that any kind of life changing event wouldn't happen for her again. She feels like this is going to really fulfill a big part of her life. I then looked at my lie (crying now) and realized that I won't have any life changing events. I am a loser. I am a total waste of a life. I know that sounds like I am being a martyr but I am devestated. I can't really talk to her about it because I am way to emotional and I don't want to guilt her or make her less excited because she is going to worry about me. I have talked to her about being lonely when she is gone and hoping that I will not struggle with my food as much as I fear - but I keep it less emotional when I talk about it. I want to be strong, confident, supportive. I am nothing but a big baby. One thing that may help me to reach my goal is that they are paying for a ticket for me to come visit. We will go to Ireland and Paris on top of London. I don't want to feel fat/sloppy for that. I want to show up looking better than I do now. Does anyone relate to the devestation, deflation, loss of hope, loneliness - all over weight? I sure would like some feedback if so.”

“I read somewhere that to burn fat while exercising you should keep your heart rate 80%-90% of your max heartrate. I tried multiplyng  my max heartrate bu 90% and was surprised at how low it is... even more so for th 80% I am definitely doing something wrong. If my THR is between 116-148 can someone tell me the best place to keep it? All of my workouts are interval so would I bounce from 80% up to 90% and back down or would I go lower and higher? I am loving my new HRM but I want to utilize the functions - other than the calories burned!”
