About Me
Full-time office worker interested in getting fit, staying healthy and avoiding my family history of heart disease, cancer, diabetes, osteoporosis, etc. Really, I'm doomed, but I'll fight it all the way.
My goal is to work out at least four days a week, usually in my home gym, but I also enjoy outdoor sports like running, cycling, hiking and skiing. My current workout plan is to do two strength workouts (maximal and explosive) and two conditioning workouts (aerobic and anaerobic) each week. My other main health goals are paying attention to nutrition and controlling stress in my life.
I also enjoy reading books about food and nutrition, but take them with a grain of salt.

“Good Afternoon!  I was an active LS member a couple of years ago.  A shoulder injury, followed by pregnancy and adjusting to being a mom side-lined me and I stopped participating much on LS (or working out very much).  Now, my little boy is 7 months old, and I have to focus on looking after myself again.  I started working again on February 1, and I have been working out at lunchtime 4 days/week (Monday through Thursday) ever since.  I want to keep active on the weekends, too, but that may take longer to work into my schedule.  I am still 20 lbs heavier than my pre-pregnancy weight, and it would be nice to lose those pounds, but my real goal is fitness.  I want to be healthy and able to go on hikes, skiing, etc. without worrying about my body's ability to handle it.  The beauty of being a beginner again is that I can almost feel my muscles waking up and getting stronger.  I also love that feeling of my lungs being used fully, not the shallow, crappy breathing I usually do all day.”
