About Me
I have been a proud stay at home mom and housewife since my son was born April 2011 although I do substitute teach and tutor a couple of days a week. I am working hard to get back to my prepregnancy weight and tone up my ab muscles after a c-section.

These are the goals I have set for myself: Lose 15 pounds (GW:129), Run a 10 minute mile and at least 5K consecutively, Hold a 5 minute plank, 100 pushups in one set, 75 sit-ups in one set, 50 Jack Knife Sit Ups in one Set, Lose at least 6 inches off my lower belly and 3 inches off my waist.

“I started the Hundred Pushup Challenge this winter and made it to week 4 but then slacked off. This time around I am going to stick with it until it is complete! I will post my initial test tomorrow.”

“ Did very well with supper last night- stuck with mostly salad and some lean protein and veggies...until it came to dessert. My mom made cream cheese marble brownies which combined two of my favorite desserts- cheesecake and brownies! They were delicious but I ended up eating 3 of them! Last night was my running night and I made it 1.5 miles in 16 minutes and 10 seconds. I walked/ran a total of 24 minutes and made it 2 miles. I also did some stretching and some additional walking. Added 20 minutes HIIT, 20 min cardio and and 10 min stretching. Started off this morning with some Wii Fit exercises. I did 5 minutes of Advanced Step then put on my 2 lb weighted goals and did 10 minutes of Hula Hoop and 10 minutes of Rhythm Boxing. I took my gloves off and did 5 minutes of Rhythm Parade then 5 minutes of stretching. Thankfully my brownie binge didn't sabotage my weigh in and I weighed in this morning at 135.6!  HIIT- 160...90 to go! (At least 13 minutes a day will reach my goal) Yoga/Stretching- 210...40 to go! Weights/Strength- 235...65 to go! (YIKES! I need to average at least 12 minutes a day for the rest of the month to reach my goal!) Overall Minutes- 1945...305 to go!  ”

“Last night I ran for 16 min and 10 seconds and made it 1.5 miles! Just shy of half way to a 5K :) After getting some wonderful advice and careful consideration I revamped my running schedule and goals to slooooowly increase my run time and distance. By the end of July I hope to be able to run 31 minutes without stopping or walking. Working my way up to running outside more is another goal. :)”

“I have had a very busy, fun, and exhausting couple of days. After work on Friday, I went for a walk with Josh, my mom and my sister then later that night  my hubby, sister and I took my little man to the carnival for the first time. It was a small family oriented carnival that was a student's senior project. It was great fun! I didn't do so well on my eating (had a walking taco which is an individual bag of doritos crushed, opened then a scoop of taco meat, cheese, sour cream, lettuce and salsa PLUS I had cheese fries with ketchup and vinegar and soda) and felt sick after we got home. I have been trying to cut back on the grease and almost never drink soda so my belly was telling me to "STAY AWAY!" After the carnival we went to K-Mart and Weis and did an extreme couponing grocery trip and saved over 80% on my bill at Weis so I was happy! By the time we got home though it was after 10 so after putting the groceries away and little man to bed it was after 11- way later than I usually stay up! Yesterday I got up bright and early to yard sale and ended up walking over 5 miles- pushing the stroller and/or carrying yard sale purchases most of the time. Added in some heavy lifting (had to pick up a 50 lb bag of chicken feed at our local livestock and pet store) plus weed eating, moving the chicken coop, raking and carrying the 50lb bag of feed 1/4 mile :)   Ran on the treadmill last night for 14 minutes and 30 seconds (1.34 miles) without walking at all! Counting my 3.5 minute warm up and 3.5 minute cool down (walking at 4mph for the warm up then starting at 4mph and working down to 2 just before stopping) I made it 1.78 mile in 21 minutes and 35 seconds! I am still trying to add on minutes and set the goal to do 1.5 minute extra running each of my running days (every other day) until the end of June. I sure hope I can keep it up! Overall I added over 4 hours of activity in 2 days and plan to add more today :) Hope everyone is having a GREAT  weekend!!!        HIIT- 135...125 to go! (At least 13 minutes a day will reach my goal) Yoga/Stretching- 185...85 to go! Weights/Strength- 200...100 to go! (YIKES! I need to average at least 12 minutes a day for the rest of the month to reach my goal!) Overall Minutes- 1795...325 to go!

  • mrsshady posted Running Minutes Question??? in the group Running Minutes Question???
“I set a goal to increase my runs by 1.5 minute every other day until the end of June which would have me running about 46 minutes consecutively. I am up to 14 min 30 seconds as of last night and tomorrow will be my running day aiming for 16 minutes. Is this a reasonable goal? I am very new to running and want to go about this in a way that will allow me to be successful AND breathe! haha   Also, any tips on moving my running workouts from the treadmill to outside? I walk with jogging spurts thrown in while pushing my son in his stroller several times a week but with my asthma I have a hard time breathing for running intervals lasting more than about 5 minutes. Any tips would be appreciated! ”

“Warmed up with a 1 mile walk with my son in his stroller then after getting him settled with my husband, started my treadmill workout. 3 Minute walk at 4mph, 13 minute run at 5-6 (mostly stuck between 5.2 and 5.7 mph) then a 4 minute cool down (2.5 minutes at 4mph then gradually slowed down to 2mph right before stopping. I had a horrible side stitch this time and honestly wasn't sure I was going to reach my goal but I stuck it out and made it! Decided to increase my run time by 1.5 minute each time (running every other day) which means that by the end of the month I should be running 23.5 minutes! If I am able to stick with the 1.5 minute increase through June, I will be up to 46 minutes by June 30th! Haven't found a 5K to sign up for yet but am still looking! :)”

“Weighed in this morning at 136.7 :) Only down 0.2 from Tuesday but indulged in salty tortilla chips, homemade bean and cheese burritos and velveeta/rotel queso dip so I am glad for any loss! Sticking with lean protein and celery, cabbage, and watermelon for supper tonight. Also aiming for at least 80 oz of water everyday this week to help rid my body of the sugar and salt I had building up. I know I feel best about myself and the way my stomach looks when I limit/cut out refined sugar/sweets/salty snacks but I have been allowing myself to indulge too much. I am 8.7 pounds away from my ultimate goal and 5.3 pounds away from my mini goal for the Wii Fit. My goal for the Wii is set for June 3rd which would mean I need to lose an average of 0.3 pounds a day. Not sure if I will reach the Wii goal or not but I will try my best! I am very proud to say I have been increasing my running intervals- I made it 11 minutes and 30 seconds on Tuesday and ran 1.03 mile! I also did some sprint intervals, walking, anks, pushups, and more this week. I need to increase my strength training though!   HIIT- 85...175 to go! (YIKES! I really need to get working on the HIIT goal or I won't make it! at least 13 minutes a day will reach my goal) Yoga/Stretching- 160...110 to go! Weights/Strength- 140...160 to go! (YIKES! I need to average at least 12 minutes a day for the rest of the week to reach my goal!) Overall Minutes- 1360...755 to go! (I need to average 53.5 minutes a day for the rest of the year! )     Wow! After I recorded my minutes I realize that I have A LOT of exercise to get during these last 2 weeks. I worked Monday, Wed, Thurs and Friday this week and work Monday-Friday of next week so I am juggling work, my little man, housework and exercise. Regardless, I set a goal and want to reach my goal!!! Game plan for the next 2 weeks... Thursday, Saturday, Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday- Running Workout (working up to 23.5 minutes of solid running by the end of the month Adding in my walking/Wii/Strength/yoga, etc. for the rest of the minutes! We can do this!!! Good luck!                                                                                 ”
