    “I'm kind of taking a messy slide down that slippery slope before I start Atkins. Not good at all. Instead of starting today, I have a trip to NYC for my niece's HS graduation, so I decided to start it next Monday. I just don't want to be in the middle of Induction (the first two weeks of strict carbs) and be around all that party food. Plus its really hard to stay on Atkins when you're traveling. My promise to myself:  ~ I will do my best to not eat as much of the bad stuff that I want to ~ I will do my best to not have bad stuff as often as I want to.

    “This stupid battle I'm in with myself is getting quite destructive. I got on the scale the other day and now I'm up 35lbs. UGH!   I have no discipline to do what I should health wise. Well that's not entirely true ... I don't eat everything I want nor do I eat as much as I want. I am able to put the breaks on in that regard. However, I think to help me get kicked into gear ... I think I will try Atkins again. I know what I've said on this site to others before, but if I am unable to stay under the required net carbs, I'll throw in the towel for Weight Watchers or some other structured program. I really think that is what I need right now. Something that is severly structured.   If I am going to be a skinny graduate in December, I need to get it in gear!   EDIT: I just looked into the carbs in the foods I still have in the fridge (milk, greek yogurt, frozen dinners, etc) and they have too many carbs for me to start right away. I'll start next Monday. Are those famous last words, or what?

    “Just finished up my Spring semester and got my grades. Finished with 4.0 GPA which puts my overall GPA at 3.75. This qualifies me for a couple of honor societies and if I complete the next two semester's with 4.0GPA, it will qualify me to graduate with honors (C. Laude).   This is not the first goal I have ever tried to achieve, but becoming a homeowner and marrying the man of my dreams was more about being in the right place at the right time. Graduating with honors (C. Laude) is the first goal I have ever had to actively work towards and I am petrified that I will actually achieve it. There are times I feel almost paralized by this fear and yet I push on. On the one hand, I really feel that if I can make it through the summer, I will be okay. However, the fall semester is not so hard hitting that I am also afraid that I'll slack off so much and get blind sided.   This is an exciting time for me. Just think ... I graduate in December ... just in time for the end of the world ... at least according to the Myans.

    This is a 5 week challenge, so please base your goals on this time frame only.   If you only signed up for one challenge last time, try to set two goals this time.   If you missed one or more of your goals for the, set yourself up for success by reassessing where you should be and what you can achieve during this challenge. If its a weight loss goal that is not going down like you want it to, take heart – everyone plateau's – its very normal. Gaining weight due to increased activity (water retention or more muscle mass) is not necessarily a bad thing, Take heart, make a commitment to drink more straight water, but don't give up being more active.   To join in the challenges, here's the breakdown:   Weight Loss Challenge: SW: starting LS lbs (heaviest lbs in parenthesis to see all lbs lost and not just lbs lost since joining LS) BW: beginning challenge weight GW: goal weight for this challenge   Mileage Challenge: GM: goal miles for this challenge   Workout Challenge: GWO: goal workouts for this challenge Challenge updates (or “Weigh-Ins”) are done on Monday's and the Summary is posted on Tuesday's (usually late morning / early afternoon).
