I have been into fitness for years. My parents got me my first gym membership in 1984. At around the same time, my younger brother an I started taking martial arts. Both I thoroughly enjoyed as hobbies. While in college I worked as a personal trainer in a major gym. After college I continued working out and martial arts, but as the years went by I was doing both less and less. After getting married and starting a family I totally dropped the martial arts and working out was always hit and miss; and over the years I had gained close to 50 pounds. About 4 years ago, with mounting health problems and a divorce I decided that I need to get back into shape. During the first year of my transformation I lost the far weight; I got to 2 pounds lighter than I was when I graduated from high school. Then I met a wonderful woman, married her, and started a new family.
About two months ago I had a new revelation after going to the doctors for a routine exam. I realized I was slowly getting back to the rut I put myself in before. So, I made a committment to myself that I would work out "at least" 3 times a week, and if at all possible I would go 5 times per week. I started tracking my nutritional intake and that is when I found this site. Using the different tools that are provided I feel I on my way to changing my lifestyle positively.
