“If you still eat off of a normal size dinner plate, I would recommend you switch to either a salad size plate or a childs plate. I have done this now for two years and it has helped me immensely. When we put smaller portions of food on a normal size dinner plate the plate looks 1/2 empty and we can feel more emotionally deprived. When you put the same portion of food on a salad plate or a child's size plate it fully fills the plate up and it looks like you are eating a full plate of food. I know it is a mind game, but it has really worked for me. A man I work with needs to loose just 20 pounds and I shared this idea with him and he says it is already helping him. If you haven't tried this yet, give it a whirl !!!
Another member of ours just last week suggested we brush our teeth after we eat. Said it helps to stop the hunger or craving to eat more. That is great advice too !! Anything we can learn to help each other out.”

I posted last week that I might change my official starting weight. I had lost 11.5 pounds in the month prior to officially starting Jackson’s Challenge. My total weight loss is 107 pounds from starting weight. I have decided that I am at the PERFECT weight for me and I need to start the MAINTENANCE piece of my journey. Having said that, here are my STATS:
My total loss on the Jackson's Challenge is 107.00 lbs
SW: 239 CW: 132 GW: 132 Total Lost: 107
It has taken me just over two years to lose 107 pounds. It has been hard work, but well worth every second!! Every part of my life has improved. I feel SO MUCH better than I did in my body at 239 pounds.
My hope is that everyone continues on their journey and reaches their goals. Remember this is not a race. It is about getting healthy and learning new healthy life long eating and exercising habits. New habits that we can continue doing for the rest of our lives.
I know I personally will have to continue tracking my food intake here on Live Strong in order to be able to maintain. Faithful tracking my food is the one thing that helped me most.
I would also like to continue being part of Jackson’s Challenge. This group has given me tremendous motivation over the past two years and has been a constant source of motivation. Thanks so all my Live Strong friends !!
I will try to get a new AFTER picture to post soon. I think the last one I posted was about 12 pounds ago.

My LOSS since last post is ONE pound
My total loss on the Jackson's Challenge is 94.5 lbs
I have 5.5 pounds left to lose to meet the Jackson's Challenge of 100 lbs lost
SW: 239 JCSW: 227.5 CW: 133 GW: 127.5 Total Lost on JC: 94.5 Total Lost: 106
I have been on Jackson’s now for over two years. I have only lost two pounds since March 1st, 2011. I am thinking that perhaps my goal of 127.5 is not reasonable, maybe it is too low. When I started Jackson’s I had already lost about 12 pounds on my own before I found the Live Strong web site. So if you look at my total loss I have already lost over 100 pounds. When I joined Jackson’s I set my goal at 127.5 because my weight that day was 227.5 and in order to join Jackson’s I needed to lose 100 or more pounds. I am consistently in a Woman’s size 8 and can wear some 6’s depending on the brand. I am 5' 2" tall and I am within healthy weight limits according to charts. I look thin and I am happy with my size. I get tons of compliments too. Is it reasonable to continue trying to lose 5.5 more pounds just so I can get my name up in the 100+ pounds lost? Thoughts ?? It just feels like I would be quitting if I did not get my name up there.
