“I'm back again. I've been exercising and counting calories for 2 days now. Seriously needing a healthy lifestyle change. Since the last time I posted in this group, my mind has been preocupied with completely different things. I haven't weighed myself in a long time, and I'm not really going to wiegh myself until I see 2 solid weeks of healthy living. I hope everybody is having a happy new year, and I look forward to reading about your progress.
For newbies, my name is Tonya, I'm 29 years old. I'm a single United States citizen, and I live in South Korea working as an English teacher. The food in South Korea is drastically different from the food on the North American continent, so every day I have to pick and choose random things. Right now, we are in the dead of winter. It snows almost every single day, and I have to walk nearly 2 kilometers to get to my work place, dodging random piles of ice and stepping in snow. There isn't a lot of food choices these days, so I've been eating a lot of meat and pre packaged things. There's a long winter ahead, and I'm just hoping that I can make it. I gotta say, even though I'm heavier than I want to be, I think the extra cushion helps me survive the walk to school and back from school (LOL) because it never gets above freezing! Anyway, nice to meet everybody.”

“So, this has been a very hard month. I found out that my mom has cancer, and then we got in a fight and didn't talk to each other for almost a month. I was so upset (I am 8,000 miles away from her at the moment), and I went Epically Overboard into self-destructive habits. Such as smoking, drinking, and junk food. Anything that was toxic, I wanted it in me. I don't know why I'm this way, I haven't been this way in a long time, but I suppose the stress was too much for me.
Anyway, this past weekend, I shut myself up in my room for Friday/Saturday/Sunday and did some serious meditation, praying to God, and thinking. Then I ditched the cigarettes, the alcohol, and exchanged total junk food for more healthy things. That's where I've been at for the past 3 weeks or so. . .just totally downward spriling into a world of sadness. My mom and I have also made up. We're not fighting any more. The doctor's say the surgury should be successful so as long as the cancer hasn't metasticized anywhere they think she'll be 100% cured.
So, that's my update. My weight: the same around 134.”
