About Me
I'm training for my first sprint distance triathlon this summer, and in the process hope to lose some weight. Overall, I need to lose about 30 pounds... give or take, you know, a pound or ten.

I'm vegetarian-ish- (no poulty, red meat, etc. though I do sometimes eat fish). I love to cook. My kitchen is full of mostly unprocessed, healthy foods. In fact, if you saw my kitchen before you met me, you would expect me to be svelte and uber-healthy. Unfortunately, when I go out to eat or am presented with junk food at other people's houses... I eat it. Also, I tend to be an "all or nothing" sort of person. In my idealistic little head I think, I won't buy veggie burgers because they're "processed" and I can make my own. However, when real life happens... instead of making my own homemade veggie burgers I go out to eat. So, I'm trying to balance my desire for healthy whole foods and the reality of what my busy life demands.

I'm a newlywed Jersey girl. I work at a small non-profit in a gritty urban setting and provide case management services to the homeless, the working poor and people with substance abuse issues.

My starting weight is about 165 pounds. I don't have an ending weight because I've never been thin and have no idea what it will be like! (The smallest I've ever been is about 134 pounds but I'm only 5'2" so that's still on the high side.) Ok... instead of posting my weekly weigh in, I'm only going to post when I hit a goal.
