About Me
I am fast approaching 70 years of age and it is hard for me to believe that 9 years ago I was actively working out daily doing over 2 hours of intensive nonstop cardiovascular exercise and was lifting 3 days a week. My weight was 175 lbs and at age 59 I was in great physical shape having not smoked for over 7 years I could outrun out jump and out lift most men 20 years my junior. For whatever reason like a fool in 2003 I started smoking again and quit working out. I later quit smoking for a year in 2006 Then in 2009 when I started coughing so hard I would pass out for a few seconds I realized I had no choice it was time to quite for good. I felt tired all the time and quickly became a couch potato which resulted in my ballooning up to 232 pounds. In July of 2011 I was diagnosed with C.O.P.D. Lucky for me at this time at my progression of C.O.P.D is such that I can still exercise by using 5 liter pm of oxygen. So I have embarked on an adventure of getting an old fat man with C.O.P.D back in shape, learning to eat better and do daily exercise.
