Black Bean Hummus

Black Bean Hummus

This darkened version is great on salads or as a spread for its creaminess and added flavor. Or, mix it up as a base for vegetarian tacos or burritos for more protein and fiber.

INGREDIENTS

SERVES 5

  • 15 oz Canned Black Beans
  • 2 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1/2 tsp Spices - Smoked Paprika
  • 2 tbsp Tahini
  • 1/4 cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1 pinch Salt

DIRECTIONS

1 Drain and rinse the can of beans.
2 Juice the 1 lemon.
3 Combine the ingredients in a blender or food processor and blend until smooth.
4 Adjust salt as needed.
5 Serve with pita chips, vegetables or use as a spread.
