Steaks. The Greek Way.

Directions

salt: salt

1. Place steaks in tin pan used for oven and add nothing. Grill steaks (alone) in oven at maximum heat, for 15 mins.

2. While this is happening, clean and chop carrots (raw) and peel potatoes.

3. Boil carrots in small pot (boil for only 10-15 minutes, barely for them to soften and be cooked easily. Do not boil until soft.)

4. Add half a tea cup of water in the steaks that are roasting in oven.

5. Cut peeled potatoes in cubes and boil for 10-15 mins in separate pot.

6. Take steaks out of the oven (they're not supposed to be cooked. Just their juices to have come out and flavor into the water you added.) Place them in a large oven dish (preferably those round ones looking like a cheesecake pot - only larger and deeper) Place steaks in the middle and then drain the potatoes and carrots.

7. Surround steak with potatoes and carrots and chopped prunes. Place everything neatly in pan so to be easily baked.

8. Boil half a cap of water and in it dillute 2 tablespoons of honey. Then put a heafty amount of mustard and dillute it in a different cup of warm water and shake until mixture is uni-form.

9. Now, add honey-water, mustard-water, squeezed fresh orange juice, white wine, olive oil and another glass of warm water, into big oven tin pot.

10. Bake at maximum heat for aprox. 15-20 minutes until liquid begins to boil. Then add salt, oregano, cinnamon, ginger, and lower heat to 150 degrees (gass mark 4) and cook for 30-40 minutes. Then turn oven off and leave for approx 50-60 mins for food to be cooked by oven heat, potatoes to become soft and mellow and steak to melt.
