Ingredients
- 4 oz Sliced Canadian Bacon
- 1/2 medium Onion, Sweet
- 2 Garlic Clove
- 1 lb Brussels Sprouts
- 1 cup Unsalted Chicken Broth
- 2 tbsp Sweet Unsalted Cream Butter
- 1/8 tsp Red Pepper Flakes
- 1 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Directions
In a heavy-bottomed pot over medium heat, fry the bacon until crisp. Remove the bacon and drain on paper towels.
Saute the onion and garlic in the 1/2 tablespoon of olive oil over low heat until soft, about 3 minutes. Add the Brussels sprouts and remaining 1/2 tablespoon olive oil; stir to coat. Season with salt and pepper, to taste. Add red pepper flakes.
Add the broth and cook, covered, over low heat until the sprouts are easily pierced with a fork, about 12 to 15 minutes. Stir in the butter and transfer the sprouts to a serving dish. Garnish with bacon bits and serve.
