Heat lovers, this is the recipe for you. Adding one of these dried peppers and a touch of the sweet, red sauce they’re bathing in is the best way to add heat and a subtle, smoky flavor to your hummus.

INGREDIENTS

SERVES 5

  • 15 oz canned chickpeas
  • 2 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1/2 tsp Spices - Smoked Paprika
  • 2 tbsp Tahini
  • 2 tbsp Chipotle Peppers, in Adobo Sauce
  • 4 fresh parsley sprig
  • 1 pinch Salt

DIRECTIONS

1 Combine all of the ingredients except for the parsley, using 1 chipotle pepper plus 1 teaspoon of adobo sauce, in a blender or food processor and blend until smooth.
2 Adjust salt as needed.
3 Garnish with parsley, if using.
4 Serve with pita chips, vegetables or use as a spread.
