Eat pizza: It’s good for you! Well, this is true only if the pizza is topped thoughtfully and healthfully -- like in this recipe. Arugula is rich in an isothiocyanate called erucin, which has cancer-preventive properties, and figs are excellent sources of dietary fiber and vitamins K and A.

Ingredients

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 450°F.
2. In a small bowl, stir together goat cheese and pepper. Spread over the entire surface of each pita. Scatter onions on top. Drizzle with 2 teaspoons olive oil.
3. Place pizzas on a large baking sheet. Bake until crust is crisp, about 15 minutes.
4. Meanwhile, quarter the fresh figs (or extra-thinly slice dried figs).
5. Transfer pizzas to a cutting board; slice into quarters, if desired. Top with arugula and figs; sprinkle with vinegar, salt and remaining 2 teaspoons oil; and serve.

Note:
If you’re a meat eater, top with a little natural prosciutto on occasion.
