Garlic and Pine Nut Hummus

Garlic, full of health benefits, offers a strong flavor that’s balanced out by the sweet, soft flavor of pine nuts. Toast the nuts lightly in a pan until they are fragrant to use as a garnish in the center of the hummus.

INGREDIENTS

SERVES 5

  • 15 oz canned chickpeas
  • 2 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 4 cloves Garlic Clove
  • 1/2 tsp Spices - Smoked Paprika
  • 2 tbsp Tahini
  • 1/4 cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1/2 cup Pignoli Pine Nuts
  • 1 pinch Salt

DIRECTIONS

1 Rinse and drain chickpeas.
2 Juice 1 lemon.
3 Combine the ingredients in a blender or food processor and blend until smooth.
4 Adjust salt as needed.
5 In a dry pan over medium heat, toast the pine nuts until fragrant.
6 Use a spoon to create a well in the center of the hummus, drizzle a touch of oil and then add the nuts.
7 Serve with pita chips and vegetables.
