Garlic, full of health benefits, offers a strong flavor that’s balanced out by the sweet, soft flavor of pine nuts. Toast the nuts lightly in a pan until they are fragrant to use as a garnish in the center of the hummus.

1. Rinse and drain chickpeas.
2. Juice 1 lemon.
3. Combine the ingredients in a blender or food processor and blend until smooth.
4. Adjust salt as needed.
5. In a dry pan over medium heat, toast the pine nuts until fragrant.
6. Use a spoon to create a well in the center of the hummus, drizzle a touch of oil and then add the nuts.
7. Serve with pita chips and vegetables.
