Grapefruit, Ginger and Turmeric Smoothie

This zesty smoothie bursts with grapefruit, ginger and turmeric. Grapefruits can increase the body’s digestive enzymes and burn up stored body fat. Ginger has been used for centuries as a natural remedy to accelerate gastric emptying and treat bloating.

INGREDIENTS

SERVES 1

  • 1 Grapefruit, raw, pink and red, Florida
  • 1/2 medium Honeycrisp Apples
  • 1/2 tbsp Fresh Ginger Root
  • 1/4 cup Greek Yogurt Non-Fat Vanilla
  • 8 pieces Raw Almonds
  • 1/2 tsp Tumeric
  • 2 tsp Honey
  • 6 Ice Cube
  • 1/2 tsp Hemp Hearts

DIRECTIONS

1 Peel, seed and chop the grapefruit.
2 In a blender combine the fresh grapefruit juice, chopped apple and ginger, yogurt, turmeric, honey, and ice and blend until smooth.
3 Pour into a glass, top with hemp hearts, and serve.
