Kerala Fish Mulaku Curry

Fresh Sardines - 1/2 kg Kudam puli(Gamboges) - 3 - 4 nos Coconut oil - 4 tbsp Onion(medium) - 1 no Coriander powder - 1 tsp Red chilly powder - 2 tbsp Turmeric powder - 1 tsp Water - 2 cups Curry leaves - A sprig Salt - As reqd
Ingredients
- 500 g Sardine, Fresh
- 1/2 cup Onions
- 1/2 cup Shallots, Freeze-dried
- 10 slice of Tomato
- 3 tbsp Curry Leaves
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric, Ground
- 2 tsp Chili Powder
- 3 tbsp Green Bean Chili
- 6 Garlic Clove
- 2 tbsp Coconut Oil
- 1/2 tsp Salt*
Directions
1)Heat 2 tbsp coconut oil and saute the sliced onions.
2)When the onions get soaked and slightly yellowish, put the chilly, turmeric and coriander powders and salt.
3)When the powders get fried, pour water to make a watery mixture and add gamboges.
4)Let the mixture boil for 1 minute.
5)Put the sardines into the mixture and let boil again.
6)Reduce the flame and cook for less 10 to 12 minutes.
7)Open the vessel and let evaporate to a curry if its too watery.
8)Put off the flame and check salt.
9)Garnish with curry leaves and pour 2 tbsp of coconut oil on top.
