For those who like bright citrus flavors, increasing the amount of lemon in the classic recipe offers just that. Finish with a sprinkle of smoked paprika for color and scallions for crunch and flavor, and you’ve got a dip just begging to be scooped up.

INGREDIENTS

SERVES 5

  • 15 oz canned chickpeas
  • 4 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1/2 tsp Spices - Smoked Paprika
  • 2 tbsp Tahini
  • 1/4 cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1 pinch Salt

DIRECTIONS

1 First, combine the ingredients in a blender or food processor and blend until smooth or at the preferred consistency.
2 Taste and then adjust the salt as needed.
3 Serve with pita chips, vegetables or use as a sandwich spread.
