Simple bacon cheeseburger wrapped in lettuce instead of a bun.
Ingredients
- 4 oz 85/15 Ground Beef
- 2 slices Sliced Bacon
- 1 1/2 oz Onions, Yellow, Sauteed
- 1 single American Cheese
- 2 tsp Mayonnaise
- 2 tsp Yellow Mustard
- 2 tsp Ketchup
- 1 1/2 tsp Bacon Grease drippings
- 5 oz Iceburg Lettuce
Directions
1. Form beef into patty, season with small amounts of salt and pepper.
2. Heat pan to medium-low (On a setting of 1-10, use a 4), fry burger and bacon in same pan for approximately 10 minutes, then flip over.
3. While the burger and bacon are cooking, slice onion, then use 1 1/2 tsp's of bacon fat to fry onion in separate pan, stirring every few minutes
4. When burger is fully cooked, place the cheese on top allowing it to melt.
5. Prepare by carefully pulling off two full leafs of iceburg lettuce, try to avoid tearing. Place one piece of lettuce on the plate and add onions and bacon on top of the stem end of the burger. Add any condiments you want, I used mayo, ketchup, and mustard. Place the cooked burger ontop of the condiments. Wrap the lettuce leaf over it, and place inside the other leaf of lettuce, wrapping it over the top.
6. Enjoy!
