Muse's Spicy Chili

A spicy ground beef chili, using crushed mixed seasonings to enhance the flavor.
Ingredients
- 16 oz Ground Beef 75% Lean
- 4 cups Diced Tomatoes
- 5 cups Kidney Beans
- 1 large Green Bell Pepper
- 1 medium Red Onion (whole)
- 4 tbsp Chili Powder
- 1 tbsp Fresh Oregano
- 1 tbsp Basil, Dried
- 1 tbsp Granulated White Sugar
- 2 tsp Garlic Powder
- 2 tsp Cumin Seed
- 1 tsp Ground Black Pepper
- 1 tsp Ground Cayenne
- 1 tsp Salt
Directions
Brown ground beef until well done. While the ground beef is browning, dice onion and green pepper into 1/4" pieces. Add onion and green pepper to ground beef, mix well. Add tomatoes and kidney beans. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Meanwhile, combine all spices in a bowl. Using a mortar and pestle, crush and mix spices until medium brown in color and all the same consistency. Sprinkle spices over chili, then stir into chili. Simmer one hour, stirring occasionally. Enjoy! Makes 9 12 oz servings.
