Peppermint Hot Chocolate

Peppermint Hot Chocolate

Tingly with a refreshing mint flavor, this is the perfect way to use up leftover candy canes from your Christmas tree or the ones you were gifted in that odd holiday bag. Put them them in a kitchen towel and use the back of a pot to crush them before stirring them into the hot liquid. Add whipped cream and chopped up peppermint chocolate or chocolate shavings for a garnish. Use any kind of high-quality milk chocolate that you prefer.

INGREDIENTS

SERVES 4

  • 4 cups 2% milk
  • 1 tbsp Unsweetened Cocoa
  • 2 Hershey Milk Chocolate Bar
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 4 Candy Cane

DIRECTIONS

1 Over low heat, warm the milk until small bubbles form but before the milk begins boiling. Be sure to not scald the milk or it won't have the best flavor.
2 Then add salt, cocoa, chocolate and peppermint and stir in until melted and combined.
3 Remove from the heat and serve.
