This simple dessert is a cinch to make and cooks in less than 12 minutes. Packed with vitamin C and fiber, pears help aid digestion. Feel free to swap the cinnamon for nutmeg if you prefer.

1. Core the pairs and cut them into wedges or halves.
2. Place the pears in a large fry pan with ½ inch of water in it, over medium high heat.
3. Let the water come to a boil and then place a lid on the pan, reduce the heat, and simmer for about ten minutes. Keep the heat high enough to simmer most of the liquid away.
4. Place the raw seeds with a pinch of sea salt into a pot or pan over medium high heat, and stir continuously.
5. As the seeds begin to brown, add the maple syrup and stir. The syrup will caramelize immediately.
6. Transfer the mixture to a plate to cool.
7. Plate the pears and break up the seed brittle, sprinkling a little onto each plate, then sprinkle on cinnamon.
