Pumpkin Spice Smoothie

Push the sugary pumpkin spice latte aside and enjoy the pure taste of pumpkin in this beautifully spiced warm smoothie that is packed with vitamins, fiber and heart-healthy fat.

INGREDIENTS

SERVES 1

  • 1/4 cup 100% Whole Grain Oats: Quick-cooks In 1 Minute
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup Pumpkin
  • 1 tbsp ground flaxseed
  • 1 cup Milk, Skim
  • 1 dash Cinnamon!
  • 1 dash Nutmeg (Ground)
  • 1 dash Cloves, Ground
  • 1 dash Allspice, Ground
  • 1 dash Ground Ginger

DIRECTIONS

1 Combine oats and water, then microwave. Undercook it so that it remains watery. Scoop oatmeal into blender. Add pumpkin, spices, ground flaxseed and milk. Blend on low for a few seconds and then high until well blended. Thin with additional skim milk if needed. Sweeten with a drizzle of pure maple syrup or stevia if desired.
2 *Note: If you don’t have these spices on hand, you can also use a mix, such as McCormick Pumpkin Spice, which will cover all but the ground cloves.
