For a kid- and adult-friendly finish, top the hot chocolate with large toasted marshmallows that you can (safely) brown over a gas burner until a golden-brown color on the outside or under the broiler for less than a minute. The cocoa adds a deeper chocolate flavor, but can always be skipped if you don’t have any on hand. You can use any kind of high-quality milk chocolate bars that you prefer.

Ingredients

Directions

1. Over low heat, warm the milk until small bubbles form but before the milk begins boiling. Be sure to not scald the milk or it won't have the best flavor.
2. Then add salt, cocoa, chocolate, and stir in until melted and combined.
3. Remove from the heat and serve.
